Tambarabarani

        The river Tambarabarani flow through the Triunelveli town. The river divides the town into two parts viz. Palayamkottai and and Triunelveli. The ground level on western side of the river (Triunelveli town) varies from 51m to 34m and on eastern sode(Palayamkottai) from 55 m to 34 m. The maximum flood level in the river is below the average level in town. The sub soil is generally gravel over lying medium rock to Kankar.
