Invitation to Design a Landmark Botanic Garden |

A two-stage landscape design competition is being organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, to select landscape design proposals and for appointment of consultant for developing a master plan for a botanic garden being set up at Noida, U.P. The Botanic Garden of Indian Republic (BGIR), which aspires to achieve international standing, is being set up with state-of-the-art infrastructure, primarily for conservation of threatened/endangered plants of the country. The BGIR would serve as a center of excellence for conservation research, training and education. The botanical garden is planned over 200 acres of land on the eastern bank of river Yamuna in the vicinity of Kalindi Kunj and Okhla Barrage.
Who can Compete? 1. Architects registered with the Council of Architecture and holding certificate of registration with up-to date renewal or having registration entitling him/her to practice in his/her country. or |
2. Degree in landscape architecture from recognized institution or member of International Federation of Landscape Architects or equivalent.
Competition Details The design brief/brochure shall be available on all working
days from 6-11-2003 to 17-11-2003 between 11 AM and 4 PM on payment of |
Awards and Special Mentions First Stage: Seven awards of Rs. 100,000 each to selected entries subject to suitability on merits to be decided by the Board of Assessors.
Second Stage: The Board of Assessors may decide the following awards on merit :
Award money will be paid in Indian Rupees only.
